Arrival at Joshimath (6,150 ft)
Reach Joshimath by evening, where our team will welcome you and assist with check-in at a guesthouse or homestay. After settling in, you'll receive a detailed briefing about the trek route, safety, and gear. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in Joshimath, surrounded by the beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas.
Joshimath to Dhak – Trek to Gulling (9,600 ft)
After breakfast, drive to Dhak village – the starting point of your trek. From there, begin your scenic ascent toward Gulling, covering 5–6 km through mountain trails, forests, and remote villages. Arrive at the Gulling campsite by late afternoon. Relax, enjoy hot snacks and dinner, and stay overnight in tents under the stars.
Gulling to Kuari Pass (12,516 ft) via Khullara – Camp at Tali
Start early for the most exciting day of the trek. Ascend through meadows and alpine landscapes to reach Khullara and then Kuari Pass. At the top, soak in the panoramic views of iconic peaks like Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Hathi-Ghoda, and more. After spending time at the pass, descend to Tali campsite for a peaceful overnight stay amidst pine and oak forests.
Tali to Joshimath via Auli
After breakfast, begin the final leg of the trek towards Auli, known for its open meadows and stunning mountain views. If you'd like, you can take an optional cable car ride down to Joshimath (at your own cost). Arrive in Joshimath by afternoon, check into your guesthouse, and enjoy a well-earned rest.
Departure from Joshimath
After breakfast, check out and depart for your onward journey. Our team will help coordinate any pre-arranged transport or travel assistance. The trek ends with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas and the satisfaction of having conquered Kuari Pass.

Weather Conditions
- Pleasant Days: Expect daytime temperatures between 12°C to 18°C, ideal for trekking.
- Cold Nights: Temperatures can drop to 5°C to 10°C at higher campsites, especially in early mornings and late evenings.
- Rainfall: Light to moderate rain is common from July to September—carry a waterproof raincoat or poncho.
- Sudden Weather Changes: Being in the Himalayas, weather can shift quickly, so always be prepared for unexpected cold winds or showers, even in summer.
- Snow (Winter Season): From December to March, expect snow-covered trails and freezing temperatures, making it ideal for snow trek lovers.
Road Conditions
- Mountain Roads: The route to Joshimath includes narrow, winding mountain roads, especially after Rudraprayag – drive with caution.
- Monsoon Impact: During July to September, roads may be affected by landslides and blockages due to heavy rainfall.
- Accessibility: Roads to Joshimath are open from April to early December; winter snowfall may affect travel beyond this period.
- Last Motorable Point: The trek starts from Dhak Village, which is accessible by car/tempo from Joshimath.
- Best Travel Window: From May to June and September to November, roads remain clear and safe for travel with proper vehicles.

- Moderate fitness level required for daily trekking (4–10 km/day)
- Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID) is mandatory
- Carry personal medications, trekking shoes, warm clothes, rain gear
- Backpack (min 40L), water bottle, cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen recommended
