Char Dham Yatra from Surat

Surat has a direct train to Haridwar and Dehradun, the Dehradun Express on the Western line. Flights are more limited, so many Surat yatris compare Surat airport with a drive to Ahmedabad or Mumbai.

Surat's diamond and textile communities often travel as large organised groups. For these, a dedicated Tempo Traveller or mini-bus from Haridwar, booked well ahead, works better than individual cars.
