Harsil Valley Taxi – Dehradun, Rishikesh & Haridwar to Harshil
Book a private taxi to Harsil (Harshil) Valley with a local driver who knows the Gangotri road. The drive goes via Chamba, Tehri and Uttarkashi and up the Bhagirathi valley, about 8–10 hours from Dehradun, Rishikesh or Haridwar, with a stop at the Gangnani hot spring on the way.
Keep the car for the valley too: Gangotri is about 25 km from Harsil, and the driver can take you to Gartang Gali, Mukhba, Dharali, Sukhi Top and the apple orchards. We also run our own homestay, Daisy HomeStay in Bagori village, so the taxi and your stay can be booked together.

Harsil Valley Taxi: FAQs
How long is the drive to Harsil?
About 8–10 hours from Dehradun, Rishikesh or Haridwar, via Chamba, Tehri and Uttarkashi. Uttarkashi to Harsil is about 75 km and Harsil to Gangotri about 25 km.
Which car will you send?
It depends on your group: a Swift Dzire for 1–4 people, a Maruti Ertiga or Toyota Innova Crysta for 5–7, and a Tempo Traveller for 8 or more. Tell us if you want a bigger car for elders or extra luggage.
Can the taxi take us to Gangotri and Gartang Gali from Harsil?
Yes. Gangotri is about an hour from Harsil, and Gartang Gali is on the way back. Nelong Valley needs a permit and a forest vehicle, so we arrange that separately on request.
Can we go to Harsil in winter?
Yes, Harsil gets snow between December and February and is beautiful then, but the road beyond Harsil towards Gangotri is closed. Ask us before booking winter dates, because the road conditions decide how far the car can go.
Do you drive at night in the hills?
No. For safety our drivers do not drive on hill roads after dark, so each day's drive is planned to reach the night stop before evening.
Can you also book the hotels?
Yes. Tick "suggest a hotel" on the form and we send verified hotels and homestays on your route with the taxi quote. If you want hotels, meals and the taxi together, take one of our packages instead.
